Empanada City first opened its doors in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn in 2017, with a simple goal: serve high-quality, flavorful food that reflects the rich culinary traditions of Puerto Rican and Dominican culture.
From the beginning, we focused on doing a few things really well:

What started as one location quickly became part of the neighborhood — a place where people could grab a quick bite, bring food home to family, or order for gatherings.
As demand grew, so did we. Today, Empanada City has expanded to a second location in Bushwick, Brooklyn, continuing to serve the same quality and care that got us here.

Empanada City isn’t just a restaurant — it’s also the foundation for something bigger.
When we couldn’t find the right technology to power our own ordering experience, we built it ourselves. That system eventually became Gegsy, a platform now used by other restaurants to run their own branded apps and online ordering.
Everything we build — both in our restaurant and through our technology — is tested in real life, in our own stores, every single day.
